Benefits of Membership

Welcome to NMAPA!

We are pleased to extend to you this invitation to join NMAPA. We hope you will find membership a valuable addition to your life as a physician assistant and hope you will consider supporting the NMAPA and its mission with a membership.

Please feel free to call or email if you have questions, ways in which you'd like to become more active in NMAPA affairs, or ideas about how to make the NMAPA better.

CME

NMAPA produces a conference every fall which offers about 18 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME. Our conference is known for providing diverse topics and excellent speakers. Members receive a significant discount. It is one of the best, if not the best opportunity for PAs to network in our geographically large state.

Legislative Representation and Advocacy

NMAPA is the leading voice of PAs in New Mexico and works to promote the PA profession in our state. The Legislative Committee is active in reviewing legislative bills and policies. NMAPA also works closely with its legislative advocate on issues affecting PAs in New Mexico. Members receive an annual legislation report and the close of the legislative season.

Leadership Opportunities

NMAPA members are invited to play an active role in the future of the PA profession by engaging in leadership activities within NMAPA. Members are welcome to join any committee and run for positions on the Board of Directors.

Student Support

NMAPA provides opportunities for prospective PA students to shadow a PA. Current students are warmly welcome to join NMAPA and take part in leadership roles within the academy; both PA schools are represented on the Board of Directors by students. Students also receive a special rate at the CME Fall Conference.

Job Listings

NMAPA posts a wide variety of PA job openings around the state on our website.

Newsletter and Email Alerts and Updates

The quarterly NMAPA newsletter provides interesting articles of both the professional and social types about happenings affecting PAs throughout New Mexico and is available to members only. Members also receive occasional emails with information that may be time sensitive.

Website

The NMAPA website is the central location for everything affecting the organization. New members can use the website to join NMAPA and current members can renew their membership online. We hope to have a member-only page where members can update their information and network with other PA's.
